Sweet Spring

I love the comming of Spring.
I urge my flowers on.
I get totally tickled when new shoots come up out of the ground.
I love the late snows because they bring moisture to my dreams of a gorgeous garden.
I love that my kids helped to plant all the tulips in our yard and that they are as anxious for their blooms as I am!
I love to see my children playing outside.
David is desperate for outside time. He would live out there if I let him.
Come On Spring...I am so excited for beautiful blooms, for colors of green, red, pink, orange, yellow, purple. A rainbow of joy right in my yard.
Hoping for some big blooms on my lilac bush.
So excited to have seen shoots from my bleeding heart comming up!
And highly anticipating gorgeous Asiatic Lilies.

This week I had some good times.
Bunco night with the girlies, filled with all sorts of Green Candy from the Country Candy Store. Gumball, jelly bellys, mint oreos!
Winslow and I made HOMEMADE Cream of Chicken Soup.
I made homemade Whole Wheat Bread.
Winslow did dishes many nights this week. Thankyou so much!
The kids were super helpers.
Matt and Janis came to see us! Oh how I miss you guys!
I got a huge basket full of goodies from My Secret Pal at work.
Baby B. had some really good days at the Center and we had lots of laughs together. Love you Baby B!
David got to stay home and play with Daddy all day on Friday and He loved it!
We made French Toast with Homemade Bread and Buttermilk Syrup for Breakfast. And Jacob made us Orange Juice. (Of which no one spilled! that's a huge accomplishment for us somedays!)
Winslow is currently staining my beautiful dining table benches.
I am hoping to find a cute skirt to wear to Jordan's wedding today.
Jordan, I am so excited for you to marry your sweeheart!
And have I mentioned lately what beautiful children I have.  I am always amazed what good looking kids I have.
Life...is good.

Anxiously Awaiting Friday

Mount Foldmore is waiting for me.
Dishes piled high.
My seedlings are getting mold....ahh, now I am going to have to start over!
Winslow has a meeting tonight, so we're eating left overs.
My kids ate all the mint Oreos.
Had a good day at work, but I am anxiously looking forward to at home time.
I need a good movie and some relax time!
How 'bout you!

Sunday

So today was an eventful Sunday.

Forgot I was supposed to play for Choir practice. (winslow reminded me and I made a mad dash for the shower and went to church with my hair in a pony tail!) Ended up not knowing the song, so they had me sing soprano instead of playing the piano. (It's been years since I sang soprano.) We had 1 soprano (me), 1 alto, 2 bass and 2 tenors. It was an interesting practice!

Then I got to sub for the organist. I haven't played regularly in 7 years and last time I played at all was over 3 years ago! This organ was way fancier than I have ever played. Never did figure out how to turn the light on. The old organs have # buttons that you push to make the organ play louder. Well i pushed the button to make it louder (I thought) and it changed the WHOLE SOUND! Sounded like Phantom of the Opera. The chorister had me stop after the first verse and change it back. HA! that made church a little more interesting!

David decided to wear his lion costume to nap. He's so cute. Whenever he sees or talks about a lion he says "roar." When he woke up we heard him talking in his room. Winslow and I went in to investigate and found him STANDING ON HIS DRESSER! looking out the window~ Crazy kid.

Made homemade WHOLE wheat bread. Yummy. Winslow made peanut butter cookies that were to die for! Had to heat the house up like an oven so the bread would raise. Worked on a cookbook for a friend getting married.

And I got to take a nap today.

Church was lots of fun. We are learning about prophets in Primary and I am so enjoying teaching the songs about the prophets. I have asked the Sr. Primary to write down questions they want anwswered and I have challenged them to pray about them and to read their scriptures. I have testified that their prayers will be answered if they prepare for conference. We've had a neat experience. We are learning a new song called, When I Hear The Prophet's Voice. I love it. Our Jr primary has been really small lately, so today I had them Sing Follow the Prophet and clap their hands on their legs, first soft and then loud. They loved it! And even thou we only had 8 kids they did so good and got really into it all.

Abby had her school program this week. She had a singing part and did so well. I love to watch my kids in their programs. I get all teary eyed and proud of my kids. She was so excited to have us there.

Jacob got strep this week, Yuck! But so far no one else has come down with it. Hurray! He did get to spend some fun time at home though. He played his final basketball game and they won, making it an undefeated season. What a guy. He was so proud of himself and had to call both sets of grandparents to let them know.

Superman Does it Again!

Winslow is amazing.
Today he has worked extra hard, and I am SOOO Grateful!
First of all he fixed my toilet.
And that was a dirty job.
Involving taking the entire toilet apart and putting it into the shower!
Apparently one of my children has a habit of putting crazy things into the toilet and it clogs them up!
(Last time it was a toothbrush.
This time it was a broken HANGER!)
It was quite a crazy week with a tiolet that kept overflowing~~~
(Jacob would like me to mention that he was forced into indentured servant status, and had to help with the project. :))
Winslow has also spent most of the day building me benches for my kitchen table.
What a MAN!!!
(And I am not so easy to please when it comes to the style I want. So Thankyou Winslow for putting up with all my requests!)
So Superman, I love you.
Thanks for all your amazing work today!

Sicko Kid

So yesterday was Jacob's last bball game. He did wonderful. It's so fun to watch him. I had struggled with a headache all day and was supposed to attend a training after the game. But I barely made it thru the game alive. So I came home and went straight to bed.
And so the adventure began.
David fell off a chair in the kitchen. No surprise, we can't get him to stay off the darned things.
So he came and laid in bed with me. (Mindy and Becky is this the correct spelling of laid or is it layed, or did I miss it entirely. I didn't move into AP english until after you all had learned that part!)
And then sometime later Winslow came to put David in his own bed.
I foggily remember Jacob comming in and talking to Winslow. No Idea What Time That Was. He was talking Nonsense and saying his mouth hurt and his neck hurt and his tongue felt funny. All I know is that my head hurt a lot and Jacob had turned the light on! So Winslow sent him back to bed. Sometime later David wandered back into our room and climbed into bed with us.
Around 4am Jacob came into the room again. Bad dream and he wasn't feeling well. I took him out into the hall into the light to make sure he wasn't having some kind of alergic reaction. His jaw and neck were puffy. He was a little warm, but no great fever. So I made him lay on my floor. Got up late. (No wonder after all that getting up in the night.) Hurried to get dressed and change laundry and get everyone up. Got Jacob up so we could check him out before we left. Signs of Strep. YUCK! Sent a Text to my boss letting her know I would need to leave work early in order to take care of Jacob. (Winslow spent time home in the morning and then we switched.) Made Green Jello and then ran off to work.
Came home.
Played outside with David.
Took my Jello to the Center, dropped off a Secret Pal gift, and then headed to the DR.
Definitely STREP!!
Spent forever getting the prescription.
Stop by Red Box to get a DVD to entertain the crowd.
Come home, do laundry, watch a little of the movie with the kids.
Make more Jello for Jacob and Ramen Noodles.
Enjoy time out in the garden tilling.
Have no Idea what to make for dinner.
But glad I get to be home with the kiddos again tomorow.
Maybe tomorow I might get a little more actually done. LOL!!!

Tired

Do you ever feel tired? Of course.
If you're a mom, you're tired. It comes with the job.
I've been good this week. Working out and lifting weights. Working on my core. LOL! Gotta get in shape for the Trek!
Oh yeah and short weather too. I didn't get to wear them last year cause I was working. But this year. Bring on the Flip Flops and the Shorts.
But anyway. Back to Tired. Rachel has been falling asleep in some of the craziest places. One night she feel asleep at the dinner table. Another night she fell asleep on the FOLDING CHAIR! Mind you she isn't falling asleep after dark. It's about 6pm when she crashes. It's hilarious.
My shift at work changed recently so I go in earlier and get home earlier. This is nice, but I have to get UP earlier too! So when the alarm goes off I drag myself out of bed. At least the sun is up with me now.
